Job description Service and Commissioning Technician – Full Time – Permanent Origin Aqua (trading as Hydrolize Ltd) is a technology leader in chlorine-free, environmentally friendly, natural mineral water filtration systems for swimming pools. We are seeking a motivated and skilled Service and Commissioning Engineer for a technical position in our market leading pool water technology company. You will be responsible for comissioning and servicing of our UK B2C projects and supporting our subcontractors and B2B distribution partners (UK and EU) on-site; to deliver outstanding plant rooms and customer service using our unique mineral water pool filtration technology (mineralbiome). About the role: The company works across the UK and overseas, providing end clients (pool owners) and distribuiton partners (pool companies) with natural (chlorine free) pool filtration systems. As we start to deliver our technology via other pool companies in the UK/EU, you will be responsible for assisting with first installs and training of our partners on every aspect of the system, its operation/servicing, and support. 30% - 65% of your work (season dependent) will be site-based (across the UK and EU), however you will also need to work in the office managing projects, procurement and stock as well as responding to techncial customer queries, and ensuring pro-active system maintenance. Some international (EU) travel will also be required to help train up our distribution partners. Reporting to the project engineers and director, you will have responsibility for the smooth running of installations by ensuring our subcontractors and installation partners deliver excellent plant room installations. You will then be responsible for handing these systems over to our end clients in the UK and abroad. We are looking for: Candidates should have demonstrable customer facing experience (minimum 2 years) in a practical or technical trade, for example: car/ bicycle mechanics, electrics, technical customer service (screwfix), plumbing, white goods maintenance, bathroom/ kitchen installers, handy man/woman, carpentry. Experience in pool/pond/ plant room plumbing, hot tubs, or a plumbing-related trade is a bonus, but just as important is being excited and motivated to expand your knowledge and skills in new areas of water treatment. You will be equally at home in a plant room using tools as you are with training and communicating with end consumers and or B2B (pool companies). The position will suit a purpose-driven, dynamic individual, who is looking for new career opportunities / progression. As a commissioning engineer, you will also be an excellent problem solver and comminucator (both verbal and writtin skills). Key tasks include: Procurement of key system components/MRP systems. Stock management and management of stock room. Conducting pre-start site surveys. Supporting plant room subcontractors with B2C installs. Hands-on system plumbing/commissioning/customer handovers (B2B and B2C). Running system installation and maintenance training programs for distribution partners. System service management and problem-solving. Responding to alarms and notifications. Providing our distribution partners with first-line technical support. Key skills & experience required: General attitude and approach: Customer focused. Excellent at communicating to a wide audience of customers. Good ability to understand and explain new technical concepts and information. Strong attention to detail and pride in work completed. Organized, tidy and on time with high levels of autonomy and maturity. Computer literate especially in MS Office including Excel, Word. Practical thinker / strong problem solver with high levels of resilliance. Ability to embrace and learn new things. Personal skills: drive and energy, adaptability, resilience and determination, confidence. Occupation specific skills: Complex plantroom pipework routing and plumbing (solvent welding) Basic electrics and control systems IT literate and able to use comissioning software / SCADA systems Awareness of hydraulics - flow and pressure, metric and imperial measurements, plumbing and construction material types. Strong compliance with health and safety, construction phases and site etiquette. Resilliance and excellent problem solving skills. Example Site Activities: Plumbing of filtration systems (PVC solvent, John Guest MDPE) Making electrical connections (eg: appliances) to all filtration units Commissioning of control systems – Inc. OA own brand system Commissioning of heating systems – Inc. Air Source De-commissioning of existing filtration systems Pressure testing of systems /leak detection Measuring and surveying in detail Filter system commissioning and handover and training Handover and training of systems NON-SITE ACTIVITIES: Procurement of materials and running of MRP systems to check / update stock Booking in and out of stock Managing Bill of Materials Manage project programme Delivery of training manuals / programs Managing project snags Managing project folders Managing import and export of goods No contact from recruitment agencies please.
