We are looking for an Assistant Caretaker to start as soon as possible. The successful job holder will be a practical person who has initiative and will take pride in the upkeep and appearance of our school.
You will assist the Deputy and Main Caretakers in providing a clean, healthy and safe environment for users of the school buildings and grounds. The role will have a focus on normal caretaking/cleaning duties including external areas of the school, but will also involve some gardening and outdoor maintenance.
This will be a part-time position working 22.5 hours over 3 days per week. Hours to be fully discussed and will include shift working. The hours of shift working are 8.00am to 4.00pm, 11.00am to 7.00pm and 2.00pm to 10.00pm.
Salary: HCC - H2 Scale 3-5* actual salary £15,040 - £15,504 per annum including outer fringe allowance, based on 22.5 hours per week
*Full-time equivalent salary = H2 Scale 3-5 £24,733 - £25,496 pa (including outer fringe allowance of £706 pa)
Hourly rate: £12.82 - £13.22 including outer fringe allowance
Hours: 22.5 hours over 3 days per week, Monday to Friday on a shift rota, which may include 1 Saturday every 4 weeks (day off in the week given). Hours to be discussed.
The successful candidate will:

* Have the ability to multi-task
* Have a range of general handyman skills such as painting and decorating, minor plumbing, carpentry and will be competent in the use of power and hand tools
* Be willing to learn new skills and undertake training to develop within the role
