The Fostering Team provides placements for children and young people in care within Warrington. The recruitment, preparation, assessment, training, supervision, and support of Foster Carers are the core tasks undertaken by the team.
The Fostering Team aims to provide placement choice for children and young people in care. The stability of placements is paramount in ensuring positive outcomes for children and young people. The quality of foster placements is recognized as a central component in enabling children and young people in care to achieve a high quality experience of family life. The Fostering Service continually strives to provide sufficient placements wherein foster carers are enabled to develop their skills and capacity to meet the needs of children in their care.
Job Role
The role of the social worker within the fostering service involves the recruitment, assessment, and support of potential foster carers and friends and family foster carers. You will be involved in multi-agency work with children in care and work closely with our safeguarding and children in care teams. Ideally, we are looking for social workers who have experience of working with children in care, family and friend’s placements, and experience of undertaking fostering assessments.
Position Details
This position oversees our supported lodgings scheme, completing initial assessment visits, supervision and support visits, and is for a fixed term of 12 months.
