Job Title: Maintenance Technician
Location: Abingdon
Position Overview:
* Responsible for providing scheduled preventative and reactive maintenance at both the Abingdon and Didcot facilities
* Following established safety protocols, such as the Permit to Work system, and adhering to Work Instructions, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Work Method Statements, and Risk Assessments to ensure maintenance tasks are completed efficiently and safely
Key Responsibilities:
* Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) based on the task at hand.
* Complete Dynamic Risk Assessments and Permit to Work documentation for all tasks, ensuring proper handover of responsibilities between users and engineering teams.
* Perform routine and emergency mechanical repairs across equipment and systems.
* Collaborate with supervisors to schedule maintenance activities, utilizing the scheduled maintenance control system.
* Maintain and repair plant service equipment, such as production vessels and cooling towers.
* Monitor the workplace for faulty equipment and perform repairs or report issues as needed.
* Keep workspaces clean and organized, particularly workshop areas, and ensure tools and debris are cleared after completing maintenance.
* Manage inventory of engineering consumables, requesting replacements when required.
* Assist in routine testing and inspection of engineering equipment and systems.
* Provide support in managing external contractors when necessary.
Travel Requirements:
* Frequent travel between Abingdon and Didcot.
Qualifications:
Essential:
* Mechanical engineering qualifications or proven experience in mechanical maintenance.
* Basic welding skills.
* Some electrical engineering knowledge.
* Full UK driving license.
Desirable:
* Counterbalance and/or Flexi (front pivoted FLT) forklift license.
* TIG welding certification.
