If so, we want to hear from you About the Role We are seeking a dedicated Functional Skills Tutor to provide personalised and engaging tuition to learners in Maidenhead. You will help students develop essential skills in English and Maths, while building their confidence and fostering a supportive learning environment. Key Responsibilities : Assess each learner’s abilities, strengths, and areas for development to create tailored learning plans. Deliver engaging and structured Functional Skills sessions in English and Maths. Adapt teaching approaches to support students with SEMH needs, ensuring lessons are both accessible and empowering. Build positive relationships with students to boost confidence and motivation. Monitor progress and provide constructive feedback to students and, where appropriate, parents/guardians. What We’re Looking For : Experience working with students with SEMH needs, including anxiety, depression, and low confidence. Proven ability to assess, plan, and deliver individualised learning content in English and Maths. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to connect with and support students effectively. Patience, empathy, and the ability to foster a nurturing and positive learning environment. A relevant teaching or tutoring qualification is desirable, but strong experience will be equally considered. Pay : £20-£25 per hour, depending on experience.
