Location: Belfast
Salary: £35,000 - £45,000
Our client is a reputable Environmental Consultancy who cover acoustics, air quality, hydrology, geotechnical engineering, town & environmental planning, contaminated land & more services across Belfast & the UK. Their Acoustics team offers a variety of services ranging from architectural acoustics and environmental noise assessments to vibration control and sound insulation design – should you join, there will be many areas for you to progress to!
Their portfolio includes an exciting array of projects, such as:
Designing acoustics for commercial and residential developments
Noise assessments for large-scale infrastructure projects
Acoustic design for schools, hospitals, and performance spaces
Supporting renewable energy projects with detailed noise impact studiesYour Role
As an Acoustic Consultant your responsibilities will include:
Conducting noise and vibration surveys using state-of-the-art equipment
Preparing acoustic design reports and environmental noise assessments
Collaborating with architects, engineers, and project managers to develop tailored acoustic solutions
Supporting planning applications with acoustic expertise
Engaging in client meetings and presentations to communicate technical findings clearlyWhat We’re Looking For
We are seeking an enthusiastic and skilled professional with:
A degree in Acoustics, Environmental Science, Physics, or a related field (postgraduate qualifications in Acoustics are a plus)
At least 3 years of experience in acoustic consulting or a related discipline
Strong technical knowledge of noise and vibration assessment methodologies and relevant standards (e.g., BS 8233, BS 4142, BB93, ISO 140, etc.)
Proficiency in acoustic modelling software (e.g., CadnaA, ODEON or SoundPLAN)
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information in a clear, concise manner
