Position: Year 6 Teacher (KS2)
Location: Ossett, West Yorkshire
Contract Type: Temporary, Full-time
Salary: £110 - 210 (dependent on experience)
Start Date: As soon as possible
Trust Education are currently hiring for a Primary Teacher for a Year 6 class to become part of their team. This is for a role working in a primary school in Ossett, Wakefield. Ideally, we are looking for someone who has prior experience of teaching KS2, in particular Year 6 to support the pupils' progression in the class for the last year of their primary education.
This is an exciting chance for a motivated Year 6 Primary Teacher to make a real impact on KS2 pupils as they prepare for their transition to secondary school. As a Year 6 teacher, you will be responsible for delivering engaging, high-quality lessons that inspire students and ensures they are well-prepared for their SATs and future academic success. You will play a key role in helping the pupils at the school, grow academically, providing a nurturing environment where every child will flourish.
Key Responsibilities:
- Have a proven track record of raising attainment in a Year 6 class and have evidence to back this up.
- Plan and deliver lessons that meet the needs of all the pupils in Year 6.
- Create and maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment to prepare pupils for the end of KS2 SATs.
- Establish relationships with Year 6 pupils, encouraging their confidence, independence, and social development.
- Work closely with colleagues form across KS2 and SLT.
- Supporting SEN pupils, to ensure they thrive alongside their peers.
- Maintain high standards of behaviour in line with the school's policies and procedures.
About You:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with experience teaching in KS2, ideally in Year 6.
- A deep understanding of the Year 6 curriculum and SATs requirements.
- A passion for teaching, with the ability to engage and inspire children.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with pupils, parents, and colleagues.
- Flexibility and a positive attitude towards team collaboration.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to plan and manage time effectively.
- Be able to identify gaps in pupil learning and manage this to narrow this.
- An ability to use a variety of assessment methods to track and support pupil progress.
