We are seeking to recruit a Technician Trainer to join our Engineering team at Peterborough College. Working closely with the team, the successful candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day running of workshops ensuring that there are tools and materials readily available for all learners.
This is a hands-on role, supervising and coaching students whilst assisting the tutors. If you have a real flair for passing your knowledge onto others, a strong sense of responsibility, and the ability to act as a role model, this could be just the job for you.
The ideal candidate will have experience within the engineering industry, a proven track record of organising and maintaining store rooms to an appropriate standard, and experience of using relevant equipment and materials.
The ideal candidate will require a Level 2 qualification in the relevant subject area, a minimum of Level 2 in literacy and Numeracy (GCSE English Language and Maths grade C/4 or above), a Level 3 award in Education + Training/PTLLS or equivalent (or willing to work towards this), a Health and Safety or technical training qualification (or willing to pursue other Level 2 equivalent qualifications).
It is expected that you will have excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders, which will allow you to have the confidence to work and support young people of mixed abilities and be able to work flexibly, prioritising tasks in accordance with importance.
