Transport Supervisor - Tewkesbury Depot - Competitive Salary
About the role
The purpose of this role is to supervise the overall activities of the Transport Function at the Tewkesbury Depot, ensuring all vehicles / drivers returning to the depot are de-briefed in full, ensuring that all aspects of operational, compliance and health and safety are covered and processed in a prompt and effective manner.
What you will do:
Logistics Management –
* Ensuring drivers have the correct and completed paperwork when returning to the depot.
* Face to face in full de-briefs with all drivers upon returning to the depot.
* Data inputting as per transport departments requirements.
* Management of end of day warehouse, ensuring the temperature regulation of returning product
* On road supervision of drivers and routes with a fluid approach to ensure OTIF is maximised.
* Ensuring drivers and vehicles are legal at the point of returning to the depot.
Health and Safety -
* Enforce all HSE requirements and conduct investigations for anyone failing to follow these.
* Ensure all relevant Transport and Health and Safety compliance and legislation is communicated, understood and adhered to you in your team.
Compliance -
* Complete driving licence checks, which includes weekly random spot checks
* Supervise the vehicle defect procedure and ensure vehicles are maintained to a roadworthy and legal standard.
* Complete DQC Card Checks, which includes weekly random spot checks.
* Updating and maintenance of vehicle files in line with company procedures and legislation.
* Booking all vehicles for Service, MOT and fridge legislative requirements.
* Complete Maxoptra checks and ensuring that driver’s routes are compliant.
* Ensure company accident reporting procedures are adhered to.
* Monitoring of driver hours / regulations and briefings where applicable.
What you will need:
* FLT licence is preferred but not essential
* Full UK driver's licence
* Understanding of HGV driver’s hours and regulations.
* Full knowledge of delivery routes
* Good analysis and reporting skills using KPI dashboards
* Competent in GPS and route manifests
* Experience of working with paperless deliveries
* Experience in delivery safety and processes
* Role model for adhering to SOPs; always follows rules and procedures
