We have an exciting opportunity at our Harpurhey Campus to join our Careers, Employer Partnership and Skills Department as a Welfare and Development Advisor on a permanent, full-time (35 hours per week) basis.
The purpose of this role is to co-ordinate and deliver welfare and personal development as part of an effective CEIAG (Careers, Education, Information, Advice and Guidance) to individuals and groups of clients. This includes supporting financial wellbeing and information to clients and promoting the college bursary. Additionally, the role involves supporting enrolment, progression, job clubs, and clients’ goals, work readiness, and positive destinations within TMC, while working with key stakeholders and support teams to maximize learners’ positive experiences.
To do this successfully you will need:
* Relevant welfare qualification and experience in a welfare advisor role.
* Numeracy and literacy skills (to level 2 or equivalent).
* Knowledge and experience of working in a welfare setting.
* Experience in assessing the needs of individuals.
* Knowledge and understanding of a wide range of occupational, student finance, and welfare matters and their implications for clients.
* Ability to deal sensitively, flexibly, and with empathy with clients from diverse cultural, ethnic, and welfare backgrounds.
* Research skills and the ability to create materials/resources for client delivery.
* Ability to manage your own workflow and possess effective time-management skills.
* Ability to work effectively in cross-college teams and establish positive relationships.
* Ability to train and develop others within the team.
