Who You Are You are an experienced and qualified social worker, proficient in completing in-depth, evidence-based assessments, particularly related to fostering services. You have a comprehensive understanding of child care legislation, fostering standards, and have previously worked with Looked After Children or within a fostering service. You are self-motivated, able to work independently, yet value collaboration and regular supervision. What the Job Involves The Independent Social Worker (Form F Assessor) is tasked with completing comprehensive British Association for Adoption & Fostering (BAAF) Form F Assessments for prospective foster carers. This includes conducting initial assessment visits, engaging in multiple home visits, and gathering extensive information about applicants. You will critically evaluate applicant suitability, conduct necessary background checks, and engage with various individuals connected to the applicants. You will compile detailed assessment reports, interact regularly with Cardiff Children’s Services, and present findings at the panel meetings held on Wednesdays.
