Cambridgeshire County Council is looking for a Finance Assistant to join the Children’s Commissioning Finance Team. This position will be Fixed Term until 30 September 2025. What will you be doing? You will provide effective and accurate payment of c£39 million of Children’s Commissioning transactions, ensuring that Providers are accurately paid and agencies invoiced. You will assist with the monitoring of budgets in accordance with Council financial processes, systems and instructions and complete regular integrity checks to ensure that all payments made are correct. About you You will be a highly motivated, proactive, organised and innovative finance professional with a proven track record of delivery. You will have a proven background in finance work, having worked with finance systems and maintained accurate financial records. You will have previous knowledge of payment systems, particularly ERP and CONTROCC. Good IT skills, especially in Microsoft Excel are essential, as is good interpersonal and customer care skills and the ability to proactively lead, manage and resolve provider queries regarding payments. You will also possess the ability to maintain good working relationships with colleagues, other teams, and partners.
