We are looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to support the day-to-day activities within the Flood & Coastal Risk Management Team. The role will include logging planning applications and Land Drainage Consent applications, managing data, maintaining and updating the team mailbox and website, fielding calls from the public and other authorities, assisting with external events, such as the Exe Estuary Partnership, providing administrative support across the whole team and helping collate information during and after a flood event. There may also be opportunities to help support the wider Environment Group.
Successful applicants should be able to work individually and with team members to organise and manage a varied workload. Experience in Flood Risk Management is not essential, however an understanding and interest in these fields would certainly be advantageous. A good aptitude in the use of IT software such as databases and GIS would be beneficial. There will also be the opportunity to gain useful knowledge and experience in these interesting subjects.
There will be an expectation of regular office working at County Hall, Exeter in order to fulfil the role, however we also encourage flexible working and the opportunity to work from home. Part time hours or job share arrangements may considered.
