They are now seeking their first Project Manager who will be responsible for managing project scope, functional and technical project resources, and interfacing with multiple departments including IT, Development, Services, and Support, in order to ensure successful and on-time delivery of the defined solution implementation. Additional work activities may include involvement in supporting change management and deployment activities.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone to step into a fairly green PM setup, and really be able to take ownership and put their own stamp on the way project management works within this organisation.
What we are looking for:
* A Bachelor's degree in Business or Technology related field from an accredited institution
* Circa 3+ years of experience in project management, preferably in software development or technology-related projects
* A strong knowledge of software development methodologies (Agile, Scrum, Waterfall, etc.)
* Experience with project management tools such as JIRA, Asana, Trello, or MS Project
* Ability to operate well in fast-paced, collaborative environments
* Excellent communication and leadership skills with a demonstrated ability to motivate and manage a team
* Problem-solving abilities with an aptitude for critical thinking and adaptability
* Strong organizational skills with a keen attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks effectively
What to expect from the role:
Project Planning and Execution:
* Develop and manage project plans, timelines, and resources.
* Define project scope, objectives, and deliverables with stakeholders.
* Ensure effective management of scope, budget, and schedule.
Team Leadership, Collaboration, and Stakeholder Communication:
* Lead cross-functional teams, including developers, designers, QA, and product owners.
* Facilitate project meetings to ensure alignment and resolve obstacles.
* Serve as the main point of contact for stakeholders, providing updates on status, risks, and issues.
* Translate technical details for non-technical stakeholders and manage expectations.
Risk Management, Problem-Solving, and Continuous Improvement:
* Identify risks, develop mitigation strategies, and address issues promptly.
* Communicate delays or scope changes to stakeholders.
* Ensure deliverables meet quality standards and best practices, while fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
Documentation and Reporting:
* Maintain up-to-date project documentation and prepare regular status reports.
* Track progress and outcomes, and conduct post-project evaluations for improvements.
