What you will do: As a Production Operative in the Loading Team, you’ll be responsible for safely and efficiently operating machinery, handling materials, and ensuring the smooth running of production processes. Working closely with your team, you’ll contribute to meeting customer demands and maintaining high standards of safety, quality, and delivery. Your key responsibilities will include: Operating processing machinery and material handling equipment to ensure timely and accurate loading of products. Recognising and selecting relevant product ranges to meet customer requirements. Conducting maintenance activities to optimise productivity and minimise downtime. Using continuous improvement techniques to enhance production processes and team performance. Handling, labelling, and storing materials in line with company policy and commercial requirements. Maintaining accurate stock records and supporting production control procedures. Ensuring all activities comply with Tata Steel’s health, safety, and environmental policies. Actively participating in team development and cross-skilling initiatives to maximise operational efficiency. This is a hands-on role where your ability to work flexibly and collaboratively will play a key part in the team’s success. What you will need: We’re looking for someone with a proactive mindset, strong mechanical aptitude, and a commitment to safety and quality. Essential Skills and Experience: A good all-round education with strong numeracy, literacy, and IT skills. The ability to work safely under pressure and to tight deadlines. Strong mechanical aptitude and spatial intelligence. Flexibility, adaptability, and a willingness to learn new skills. A commitment to continuous improvement and teamwork. Desirable Skills and Experience: Experience in a manufacturing or production environment. Familiarity with operating machinery or material handling equipment.
