About IRPM
The Recruitment, Partnerships and Mobility (IRPM) team makes up part of the External Relations Directorate. The team is working in-line with the University’s ambitious new strategy to rapidly expand its potential to generate new income streams and develop substantive global partnerships aligned to the emergent new University Strategy. The IRPM team is therefore being tasked with increasing the visibility of the University of York to global audiences, including partner international universities, international academic networks and other international research and teaching partnerships. The University has significant geographical reach with its current partners and prides itself on the depth of these relationships. Our position as part of the Russell Group means we attract significant interest and as we grow in size and stature, we will need to manage this effectively.
This role is part time (0.6 FTE) with funding available until 19 September 2025.
Main purpose of the role
This role will focus on CITY College, University of York Europe Campus, a strategic relationship which includes Transnational Education, joint research, mobility opportunities and more.
You will work closely with colleagues in the Academic Support Office, who will manage the validation aspects of the relationships, while focusing on continuous improvement on processes and planning across each relationship.
Key responsibilities
(Role holders will be required to undertake some or all of the duties below)
1. Act as a key member of the Strategic Partnerships implementation project team.
2. Manage entire implementation support for Strategic Partnerships workstreams.
3. Plan and manage the operational delivery and coordination for CITY College and new partners as they come.
4. Work with key business leads and the Academic Support Office to support development of regulations and policies (e.g., Validation handbook, Collaborative Provision Guidance, Ordinances and Regulations) to deliver closer alignment and establish basis for future partnerships.
5. Liaise with an identified person in Finance to carry out reconciliation and checks to ensure invoices are accurate and payment received/dispersed.
6. Lead relationships with academic departments to appoint to academic liaison roles and provide support around reporting on effectiveness of relationship development.
7. Generate and plan internal communications with colleagues in External Relations to ensure the wider university population remains briefed on project developments, as well as liaising externally to review the marketing materials of our partners when appropriate.
8. Work with the Director of International to inform a business case for day-to-day partnership management when in BAU and requirements for onboarding new TNE partners.
9. Provide tailored country and/or institution-specific briefings for University staff to help inform effective decision-making on international matters by providing research and analysis of relevant trends and opportunities in our target regions.
10. Manage relevant incoming and outgoing visits to the University, with partners including universities and diplomatic stakeholders, and communicate with key internal stakeholders to deliver meaningful programmes of activity.
11. Provide effective and efficient administrative/secretarial support to the relevant strategic working groups and related committees.
