Autism Practitioner - Job in Newcastle Upon Tyne Education & Training Jobs
Milk Education is working with an Ofsted Outstanding SEND school in the Gateshead Area who are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Autism Practitioner. The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting individuals with Autism by implementing tailored care plans and facilitating their development in a nurturing environment. This position requires a strong commitment to enhancing the quality of life for those we serve, as well as the ability to work collaboratively with families and other professionals across KS1 - KS3 classes.
This Autism Practitioner role is to support both students and the class teacher with the day-to-day running of the classroom. You must be confident to support children working on a one-to-one basis and in a group capacity as required. The hours of work are 08:30 am - 15:30 pm, Monday to Friday, with a 30-minute lunch break to start after the half-term break.
Role and Responsibilities as an Autism Practitioner:
1. Supporting with Learning and Development
2. Working on a 1:1 and small group basis
3. Encouraging, Supporting, and De-escalating students
4. Being involved across the curriculum, including outdoor learning, PE, and Core subjects
We are looking for an Autism Practitioner who is:
1. Passionate about enabling every child to fulfil their potential
2. Able to contribute to, and work as part of a team
3. Reliable and flexible to suit the expectations of our schools
4. Previous experience working within an educational setting
5. Creative, Pro-active, and Enthusiastic
6. Able to work under their own initiative
7. Education-related qualification preferred but not essential
