Job Title: Test Support Team Leader

The Test Support Team Leader is responsible for organising and enabling the tasks required of the support technicians in their work of facilitating the testing of engines on dynamometers or engine sub-assemblies on rigs. The Team Leader will have extensive knowledge of engine test installations, particularly the electrical systems.
Key Responsibilities - Engine Test Team Leader
1. Managing the teams workload to deliver the various projects in the correct priority and reporting projects status to management. This could include new installations, upgrades as well as break downs & maintenance.
2. Manage the ticket system the dyno technicians/engineers use to request support.
3. Responsible for the electrical & electronic support systems of an engines installation on dyno or rig.
4. Production of electrical installation drawings.
5. Authoring local procedures.
6. Ensure the dynos & rigs instrumentation is kept in calibration and setting up additional instrumentation as required.
7. Align driveshafts.
8. Ensure the test department's cooling water systems are maintained in accordance with HSG 274 pt1.
9. Stock control of maintenance and consumable inventory.
10. Maintain instrumentation and calibration device records.
11. Supplier selection and liaison.
12. Administration of the team's holiday, sickness and overtime records.
13. Consider the health and safety, environmental and energy impact of all activities.
14. Support the Company's compliance with the Data Protection Act 2018, following policy and best practice.
15. Any other duty or activity reasonably requested in order to meet department/company goals.
Key skills and experience - Engine Test Team Leader
1. Previous experience working in an engine test support environment.
2. Capable of effectively managing own and others workload.
3. Have a positive and proactive approach to sometimes changing project priorities and challenging new requirements.
4. Take ownership of problems and seek to successfully resolve them, either internally or by external collaboration.
5. Able to progress multiple work streams.
6. Apply structured, logical approach to work, delivering in an organised, professional manner.
7. Excellent time management and planning skills.
8. Confident and clear verbal & written communication.
9. Good understanding of internal combustion engines and engine test methodologies.
10. BTEC, ONC or higher qualification in a relevant engineering discipline.
