Electro Mechanical Technician

Our growing manufacturing company based in Royston has a new opportunity to join their assembly team.
Responsibilities:
1. Assemble test systems and sub-assemblies in accordance with design specifications and quality procedures.
2. Make connections to allow system alignment and setup prior to shipment.
3. Assemble special cables to drawing.
4. Keep work areas tidy and free from dirt/dust.
5. Work in a safe manner at all times and adhere to all Health and Safety regulations, policies, and instructions.
6. Play an active role as a team member of the cell team, including assisting and training colleagues and making suggestions for improvement.
7. Participate in improvement programmes and projects as required.
8. Operate in a Lean and 5S manner, e.g., returning all tools to relevant storage board after use.
Qualifications / Experience:
1. Minimum C level GCSE Mathematics and English or equivalent.
2. Apprenticeship or City & Guilds/NVQ Level 2 or equivalent, preferably in Mechanical Engineering.
3. Practical experience of using Lean techniques would be desirable.
4. Able to read and understand technical drawings and documentation.
5. User of mechanical lifting devices (crane/forklift).
6. Able to use Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, and Excel).
7. Proven experience of mechanical or electromechanical assembly in a factory environment, including practical experience of Lean techniques.
8. Experience of implementing Health and Safety improvements.
9. Able to use multi-meters.
10. Proven experience of achieving production delivery deadlines, including standard build times.
The Electro Mechanical Technician hours are Monday to Friday days 37.5 (Flexible working hours).
