About the Role: As a Science Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering engaging and thought-provoking lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, with the potential to teach Key Stage 5. You will bring Science to life, inspiring students through practical experiments, real-world applications, and an enthusiasm for the subject. The successful candidate will join a supportive and well-resourced department, committed to delivering outstanding teaching and learning experiences. Key Responsibilities: Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality Science lessons that challenge and inspire students. Differentiate teaching strategies to meet the diverse needs of learners and ensure all students make progress. Promote scientific curiosity and critical thinking, encouraging students to explore and apply scientific principles. Assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback and intervention where necessary. Foster a stimulating and inclusive classroom environment that promotes engagement and achievement. Utilise practical experiments and interactive teaching methods to enhance understanding and enjoyment of Science. Support students in their GCSE and A-Level preparation, ensuring they achieve their full academic potential. Collaborate with colleagues and participate in departmental planning, ensuring consistency in teaching and assessment. Maintain high standards of behaviour and classroom management, ensuring a positive and productive learning space. Engage in continuous professional development, staying abreast of educational trends and best practices. Science Teacher requirements: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification in Science. Experience teaching Science at the secondary level, with a strong understanding of the national curriculum. A proven track record of raising student attainment and delivering outstanding lessons. Subject specialism in Biology, Chemistry, or Physics is desirable, but a strong general Science background is essential. Excellent classroom management skills, with the ability to create a safe and inclusive learning environment. A passion for Science and a commitment to inspiring young minds through innovative teaching methods. Ability to differentiate learning materials to cater to a range of abilities. Have an updated CV (covering the last ten years barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or be willing to apply for one).
