Aboutthisopportunity
We’relooking for Back End Software Engineers to join our Mass AffluentDigital Experience (MADE) lab in Leeds.
MassAffluent is the segment of customers with between £50,000 and £5million in investable assets. We have close to three million MassAffluent customers, and we are working hard to create greenfieldpersonalised and tailored offering to ensure a beautiful bankingexperience. We want to provide a seamless digital experience, withthe right products and services at our customers’ fingertips, butour face-to-face, telephone and secure messaging remain a vitalpart of ourservice.
Whatdo we need to see fromapplicants?
We likepeople who come from a diverse group of backgrounds that can bringnew and challenging ways of thinking to the team. As a minimum tobe considered we’ll need to see evidence of the following in yourCV:
Essential:
* Strong understanding andexperience of designing, building and operating Java services(particularly microservices, RESTful APIs, and distributedsystems). We use the Spring Boot framework for building ourmicroservices.
Desirable:
* Experiencedesigning, building and operating services using Cloud Nativeservices from any major Cloud provider. We run our services onKubernetes on GCP.
* Demonstrated experiencecollaborating with Product and Design colleagues to drive outcomesfor customers
* A good understanding of Git,source code management and managingchange.
* Knowledge and experience of agiledevelopment practices, continuous integration and test automation(e.g. TDD, BDD).
* Excellent interpersonal andteam working skills
* Experience of technicalguidance andmentoring.

* Having an excellentunderstanding of Agile software development and supportingcontinuous improvement of your team
* Writemodular, clean, testable applications using design principles suchas SOLID and DRY
* Significantly contribute tothe delivery of strategic microservices that support the MassAffluent Digital Experience offering
* Contributeto levelling up how we design, build and operate software as scalewithin the Bank through the wider engineeringcommunity
* Technically mentor and develop yourcolleagues, providing clear and constructive feedback, through codereviews and design documents
