The Academy is currently recruiting for a proactive Programme Manager based in Wales to join our friendly Education Programmes team and manage This is Engineering: Welsh Valleys, a regional programme which aims to upskill teachers and better-equip schools and colleges across the Welsh Valleys in order to inspire the next generation of engineers and technicians. As the Programme Manager for This is Engineering: Welsh Valleys you will be responsible for delivering this important STEM education programme, which is designed to create communities of practice in the teaching of engineering. By upskilling STEM subject teachers to embed their knowledge of engineering into both the curriculum and extra-curricular activities, learners in turn have access to enhanced STEM opportunities, which raise awareness and aspirations for engineering and technician careers. You will oversee all aspects of scheme planning, delivery and evaluation, working closely with education contacts, industry partners, the Academy team and other key stakeholders. Who are we looking for? We are looking for an individual with the creativity, initiative and flexibility to lead the development and management of This is Engineering: Welsh Valleys. You will work with locally-based engineering employers and STEM education organisations to ensure the programme provides outstanding opportunities for participating schools and colleges, and contributes meaningfully to a sustainable legacy of STEM enrichment in the region. To lead this programme, you will have demonstrable experience of project or grant management, and with it strong organisational and administrative skills. You will need to be a self-starter who has the confidence to work autonomously, whilst forming part of a close-knit and supportive team that delivers a portfolio of regional education programmes. The successful candidate will possess a strong understanding of both the engineering and education landscapes in Wales and will be able to quickly establish rapport with different partners and stakeholders, and maintain strong working relationships. You will be an effective communicator, skilled in verbal and written communication for a variety of audiences which will include young learners, educators, and industry partners. You will have an interest in the education of young people and a commitment to widening participation in engineering education. Interview date: 03/02/2025 Interview location: Wales
