Your new role Design Engineer - Leading-Edge Technologies We are looking for an experienced technical individual with a focus on leading-edge network, voice and Cyber security solutions, across critical national infrastructure (Energy, Water, CNI and Blue Light clients). The ideal candidate will understand network architecture and design, as well as experience with adapting to continuous project flows. Design and specify systems and sub-systems in line with customer specification. This may be completedas part of a pre-sales activity or project delivery phase. This will include engagement with existing and new suppliers. Formulation of project and handover documentation including, but not limited to; engineering documentation and drawings, testing procedures, Health and Safety documentation. Support in the installation, commissioning and testing of communications equipment and systems ensuring accurate and timely completion in accordance with company and customer procedures and programmes, with required documentation. This will be a combination of office based and on-sites around the UK, and occasionally, abroad. What you’ll need to succeed Experience in site activities including installing, configuring and commissioning communications and telecoms equipment and services. Experience in design of formalised design of systems and or subsystems. Exposure to, and some experience in a diverse range of communication technologies, including IP Networking and at least one of the following: SDN, IP Networking, TDM, DWDM, Microwave radio, Telephony, CCTV or Access Control.
