Job Title: Residential Childcare Practitioner
Provision: Children's Home for Young People aged 7 to 17 years old with Social, Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (SEBD)
Location: Sunderland, SR3
As a residential support worker, you will nurture and support the children and young people in your care, with all aspects of day-to-day tasks and activities. You will have a passion for helping vulnerable young people achieve positive outcomes and reach their potential. No two days are the same working in Residential Care for Children. If you enjoy working with children and possess the resilience to work with challenging behaviours having a nurturing and supportive approach to your practice, we want to hear from you! Full induction, training and support is provided by the provider's in-house learning and development team.
Your Qualification:
It is desirable that you hold Level 3 NVQ in Residential Childcare; we may also consider Level 3 Diplomas in Social or Children Care.
Your Experience:
It is desirable that you have experience working in a similar setting (this does not include care assistant for the elderly for example) such as working with children with challenging behaviour or complex needs.
As a Residential Support Worker, you will have the following:
* The desire and passion to safeguard, motivate, and inspire the young people in your care.
* Lead, demonstrate, and share best practice to other practitioners in your home, in addition to working closely alongside Psychologists and the specialist therapeutic services team.
* The characteristics and personality to handle challenging behaviour effectively and professionally.
* Shift work including weekends, evenings & sleep-in duties.
* Full driving license is essential.
* Minimum age 21.

Schedule work pattern/shifts:
2 on 4 off; 12-hour shifts, working 2 to 3 sleeps per week.
