As a Community and Relationship Mentor at Be-inn Unity, you will be at the forefront of delivering impactful personal development initiatives in high schools. You will work directly with young people, empowering them to build confidence, develop self- awareness, and engage in activities that promote mental and emotional health. Your role will be pivotal in creating a supportive and nurturing environment that allows students to thrive. Location: Inverclyde Employment Type: Part Time/Term Time - Approx 25 hours per week. (3 days) Salary: £17500 - £21000 www.beinnunity.co.uk/careers Responsibilities Facilitate Workshops : Deliver personal development workshops focused on self-awareness, emotional regulation, and relationship-building. Initiative Implementation : Lead and support initiatives such to enhance students' social skills, emotional wellbeing, and community engagement. Relationship Building : Develop strong, trusting relationships with students, staff, and the wider community to foster a positive school climate. Trauma-Responsive Approach : Apply attachment theory in your interactions, ensuring a trauma- responsive, supportive approach to mentoring. Professional Development : Participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay current with best practices in trauma-responsive care and child development. Community Engagement : Promote engagement with local organisations, staff and the wider community. Qualifications BA in Childhood Studies or similar in childhood development. Formal training or teaching qualification. Knowledge of the education system, curriculum and policies. Demonstrated experience working with young people, particularly in educational or community settings. Knowledge of child development, attachment theory, and neurodevelopment is essential. Nature enthusiast, willing to work outdoors and facilitate wellbeing walks in nature and support the wider Be-inn Unity initiatives of nature-based projects. Must have driving licence with access to own vehicle. School trips/visits will be covered by school minibus.
