Shift Maintenance Engineer (Near Chester)
GBP42k - GBP44k plus overtime
About the Role:
Join a leading packaging design and innovation company at their foodservice packaging site near Chester. We're looking for a skilled Shift Maintenance Engineer to join our maintenance team and help keep our production machinery running smoothly.
Job Purpose:
* Maintain and repair production machinery to high standards, ensuring minimal interruptions and breakdowns.
* Maintain comprehensive maintenance and service records.
* Devise, fabricate, and install improvements to production machines.
Responsibilities:
* Perform planned maintenance on plant and equipment.
* Respond to production machine breakdowns.
* Install and relocate production equipment.
* Specify and order spare parts.
* Complete maintenance records and required paperwork.
* Read and interpret electrical and mechanical drawings.
* Conduct mechanical and pneumatic fault finding.
* Record daily activities and liaise with other departments.
Skills & Qualifications:
* Ability to read mechanical drawings.
* Strong mechanical skills, with at least 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
* Electrical knowledge preferred but not essential.
* Experience in a high-speed, high-pressure production environment.
* City & Guilds qualification or equivalent.
Interpersonal Skills:
* Highly responsible, conscientious, and reliable.
* Good communicator with a strong work ethic.
* Flexible, able to prioritize effectively and adapt to variable workloads.
* Punctual, presentable, and with good attendance.
* Experience working in fast-paced environments, able to manage time effectively and multitask.
* Proactive with a can-do attitude.
Work Hours:
40 hours per week, rotating shifts including early, afternoon, and night shifts.
