ORG CONTEXT Research Infrastructure for Conservation and Heritage Science (RICHeS) is a new £80 million investment into the UK’s heritage science sector. To deliver this exciting new programme, AHRC is developing a RICHeS Infrastructure Headquarters (IHQ) to manage the programme. PURPOSE The RICHeS Senior Operations Manager will provide day to day operational management of the RICHeS programme and IHQ, including budget management, risk management and post grant support, as well as line managing an Operations Manager. MAIN OUTPUTS Provide day to day operational management of RICHeS including managing and maintaining project, business and operational plans Manage post-grant support for RICHeS funding recipients on reporting, project delivery, and project change requests Provide support to the Heritage Science Data Service investment to ensure access, reporting, and delivery Manage the RICHeS project risk register, including reporting on risk to the RICHeS Programme Board Day to day budget management of RICHeS and IHQ, including financial management of estate costs, the Access Fund and commissioned activities and reports Supporting the development of the IHQ site as a workplace for the IHQ team and hub for the heritage and conservation science community, and represent both RICHeS and AHRC at internal and external meetings and events Being an engaged and supportive member of the IHQ team, helping RICHeS deliver a step change for the heritage and conservation science community, captures impact and builds knowledge Line management of the Operations Manager, including delegation and recruitment Develop and deliver the RICHeS commissioned research strategy Support the planning and delivery of engagement, networking and training events Develop and maintain an overview of developments in the conservation and heritage science research infrastructure landscape, strategic partners, and other funders, relevant to the remit of the role SHORTLISTING CRITERIA Project management skills, including budget or financial management Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both spoken and written, and the ability to communicate effectively with a range of audiences Strong and collaborative team working skills, including briefing colleagues, and deputising for senior staff Ability to manage and support staff, including recruitment and delegation Ability to manage complex workloads with multiple deadlines and priorities Ability to work collaboratively across teams, councils and communities to manage and meet complex deadlines Ability to follow, develop and refine business processes Understanding of risk management, including identifying and communicating risk Problem solving skills and the ability to find the answers to complex questions ADDITIONAL INFORMATION DEVELOPING TALENT: We are committed to developing employees in their roles throughout their career.
