The Role
Tameside Council is dedicated to providing robust systems and solutions to our services and customers. We are looking to recruit a skilled and experienced Technical Specialist to join our Infrastructure Services team. This role is ideal for someone with a background in M365.
As a Technical Specialist, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth running of IT systems and provide technical expertise to resolve issues promptly and efficiently.
You will be responsible for troubleshooting, supporting, and enhancing our Microsoft 365 environment, as well as assisting with server builds, Active Directory administration, and virtualisation platforms.
Our IT teams work in a hybrid manner, predominantly at home with time as necessary in our offices in Ashton-under-Lyne.
About You
The role is varied and as such as many of the following skill sets would be beneficial in any application:
* Microsoft Azure/Office 365 deployment and administration
* Good fault finding and trouble shooting skills. Diagnose and resolve server issues including hardware, software and network related problems
* Conduct fault finding and provide timely solutions for system failures or performance issues
* Assist in the design, deployment and management of Microsoft Windows server builds and configurations
* Microsoft Exchange Server administration
* Administer and manage Microsoft Active Directory (AD) including user management, group policies and security permissions
* Support Virtualisation platforms (Vmware/Hyper-V) to optimise infrastructure
* Backup and Recovery (Veeam).
* Collaborate with cross functional teams to implement IT solutions and improve operational efficiency
In addition to the above skill sets the following would be an added bonus for the role.
* Microsoft SQL Server build and administration.
* Microsoft DNS administration.
* Network routing.
* Firewall administration.
