Remote People is excited to present an exceptional opportunity for a Financial Controller to join a prestigious ministry’s embassy in London. This role offers a unique blend of financial management, administrative oversight, and human resources responsibilities in an international diplomatic setting.
The Financial Controller will oversee daily financial operations, ensure compliance, and provide regular financial updates to the Education and Science and Technology Attaché. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional with a strong background in finance and an interest in international relations.
Key Responsibilities
* Prepare annual budgets, financial statements, and final accounts for the attaché’s office
* Organize accounting records, audit financial operations, and review account accuracy
* Manage procurement of materials and supplies within the approved annual budget
* Monitor fund collection, financial claims, and tax refunds
* Process employee salaries and ensure compliance with UK tax and insurance regulations
* Coordinate local staffing plans and manage employee data
* Ensure timely financial payments, including university tuition fees
Qualifications and Skills
* Proven experience in financial management and controllership
* Strong knowledge of accounting principles, budgeting, and financial reporting
* Familiarity with UK labor laws and HR processes
* Excellent organizational and time management skills
* Proficiency in financial software and MS Office suite
* Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
* Fluency in English; additional languages are a plus
Work Schedule and Location
* Full-time position, Monday to Friday
* On-site at the embassy in London
