Please refer to the attached job description and person specification for full details of responsibilities Work collaboratively with the Preceptee to create a development plan (within first 8 weeks of employment), and identify support required to achieve the competencies. Will ensure the provision of regular supervision (a minimum of 1 hour per week of any format, but no less than1 hour of one-to-one clinical supervision fortnightly) Offer support and supervision to develop the required competencies. Support to problem-solve any organisational barriers to the preceptee achieving development goals. Meet regularly with the preceptee to review progress (minimum of every 3 months) Arrange a formative review meeting where the portfolio is reviewed and to collaboratively agree a suitable timeframe for organising an interview for the 8a post (inviting a senior psychologist from an external CPFT team/service). Provide additional support to psychologists and operational managers where any significant barriers or challenges arise during the process. Sign off Competence Assessment form on completion of all areas of competence and support with process of transition to band 8a. Liaise with the preceptor when an extension is required to the usual preceptorship arrangement. Escalate to directorate lead psychologist and or Director of Psychological Services and to relevant HR colleagues in the event of likely failure to meet the required competencies in the timeframe agreed.
