We have an exciting opportunity to join the Endoscopy team within a newly established Endoscopy pre-assessment service.
Endoscopy is a busy and fast paced department and while working as part of the whole team you will need to have the capability to prioritise your own workload, be confident, flexible and adaptable to varying situations in this busy environment
To be responsible and accountable for identifying and communicating potential problems at an early stage, liaising with non-clinical and clinical colleagues at all levels.
You will provide high quality admin and clerical support in the form of booking Endoscopy Pre-Assessment appointments using electronic booking systems whilst supporting the administrative team.
You will liaise closely with our service users and link with our many departments involved in providing timely appointments for patients to ensure Endoscopy procedure can go ahead without delay.
The post holder will act as Deputy to the Service Manager for the day to day supervision of the outpatient clinics and line management of outpatient admin team and will work closely with the clinical teams and service managers to ensure a quality service.
The post holder will be responsible for overseeing the booking of appointments and procedures, ensuring referrals are dealt with efficiently and that targets are met; liaising closely with service users in providing timely appointments in line with TCIs and internal KPIs.
The post holder will oversee clinic cancellations and ensure necessary reductions are made in response to medical staff absences; escalating any capacity issues rearranging patients based on priority.
The post holder will be expected to use initiative and judgement when dealing with urgent and non-routine situations, being able to troubleshoot errors and report any anomalies or issues to the management team.
The post holder will be responsible for Trust reports, including the monitoring of internal data. This will include audits and using datasets to close patient pathways or offer further appointments and directing the team, as appropriate.
