Samuel Frank is recruiting for a Controls Engineer, with working knowledge of Siemens TIA Portal (modifications to existing systems) combined with the ability to produce high quality Electrical designs, to work for a well-known and reputable OEM based in West Yorkshire.
This opportunity will suit a Controls Engineer with at least 3 years recent/relevant experience in this field.
Key aspects of the Controls Engineer role include
Successful Controls Engineer will assess whats already in place in terms of coding and designs and then modify accordingly (as opposed to being an expert programmer and designer and be happy to go to site! )
Prepare electrical schematics, panel layout drawings & cable schedules (AutoCAD or EPLAN)
Ability to write software using established reusable blocks
Able to produce designs from P&IDs, I/O lists, functional design specifications (FDS), electrical schematic wiring diagrams, safety design documents and customer specifications
Configuration of Variable Speed Drives ideally Siemens G120 and Rockwell PowerFlex series.
Any experience of functional machine safety would be useful
Qualified to minimum HND in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent).
Controls Engineer role will be 80% office/home based 2-3 days per week in the office when not on site, with monthly trips to site to provide commissioning support of roughly 4-5 days involved (UK & International)
Controls Engineer role would suit a self-starter with full project life cycle experience.
Youll need a UK driving licence and be able to travel in and out of the UK without restriction.
The client is easily commutable from large parts of West Yorkshire including places such as Leeds, Bradford, Keighley, Ilkley, Harrogate, Skipton, Shipley and Otley.
