Sales Ledger / Accounts Assistant / Full-time office based / Permanent
Reed Accountancy & Finance are excited to be working with a successful business outside Lisburn and are actively recruiting for an Accounts Assistant to support within the finance team.
This is a full-time permanent opportunity, office based.
This would be a brilliant opportunity for an Accounts Assistant who is eager to take the next step in their career and develop their skills and experience.
Working closely with the Financial Controller, the Accounts Assistant will specifically manage the sales ledger function while supporting the day-to-day running of the accounts department.
Specific duties will include:
1. Review and processing of Service invoices
2. Review and processing of sales orders prepared by the Sales and Parts team
3. Processing of quotations
4. Managing the company’s credit control
5. Verifying VAT on invoices to ensure compliance
6. Resolving queries by key internal and external stakeholders in a timely manner
7. Identifying potential problems or issues
8. Taking credit card payments over the phone
9. Collection of DD payments
10. Monthly intercompany reconciliations for sales ledger
11. Sending out monthly statements to customers
12. Building and maintaining strong working relationships with customers
13. Recording notes/details of customer contact within Encore
14. Sending copy invoices as required
15. Uploading invoices and or invoice details to customer portals
16. Monitoring general & personal email boxes and attending to them in a timely manner
17. Escalating any concerns over unpaid invoices and potential bad debts to the Financial Controller
18. Escalating the treatment of any cash allocation issues or potential adjustments that you are unsure about to the Financial Controller
19. Reviewing proforma accounts and reporting to the Financial Controller on a weekly basis
20. Opening new customer accounts in line with company procedures
21. Raising sales credit notes in line with company procedures
22. Liaising with Sales team to establish upcoming sales for cashflow purposes
Essential Skills Required:
1. Attention to detail, inquisitive mind, and ability to work to tight deadlines
2. Strong communication skills
3. Ability to work within a team
4. A solid understanding of double entry bookkeeping is essential
Qualifications and Experience required:
1. 1-2 years previous sales ledger and credit control experience
2. Experience working with stock and job costing is an advantage
