Job Description
The Identity and Fraud Analytics team are looking for an Analytics Consultant to work as part of a fast paced, dynamic, innovative team developing new analytical fraud and financial crime products and working directly with clients delivering bespoke data science and analytical projects. This is a great opportunity to experience a huge range of data science and analytical projects in the ID&F space.
Analytics and predictive models are crucial in the fight against fraud; we recently worked with NewDay to improve their fraud detection solution by developing and deploying a bespoke Machine Learning score. This was able to increase fraud detection at point of application by 25%, with no increase in the number of applications being referred, which resulted in an incremental £9.6m per year of fraud detection.

This role represents an exciting opportunity to be part of the growing ID&F Analytics team and is critical to our success.
Working across the ID&F Analytics team, and under the guidance of the Head of ID&F Analytics, you will be responsible for engaging with clients / product directors to identify problems and define, design and deliver analytical solutions.
We need your help to continue to drive our ID&F business, by supporting our vision, strategy, and analytics roadmap.
The Role
You will be designing and leading multiple analytics projects from concept to implementation, to benefit our clients and their customers whilst managing and motivating your project team to ensure we deliver high quality analytical solutions.
In addition, this role provides the opportunity to manage a small team of junior analysts and hence carries responsibility to drive your own and your team’s performance to achieve our ambitions.
Responsibilities of the role will include:
Analytics Deliveries
1. Engaging with clients to identify problems and define, design and deliver analytics solutions
2. Designing and leading internal projects to develop new analytics solutions and/or embed cutting edge analytical techniques into existing products to improve performance
3. Mentoring and coaching junior team members in the development of robust analytical solutions, including the development of predictive models and ad hoc data analysis
4. Driving high standards of customer service and proactive client communication throughout all internal and external engagements
5. Working with product managers to define the analytics roadmap for Fraud, Identity and Financial Crime products
6. Participating in pre-sales and sales meetings with clients and prospects to describe and position Experian’s analytics projects and propositions and to adapt it to the specific client’s needs
Qualifications
We do not expect everyone to have fully developed expertise from day one. With the right support and attitude many of these things can be learned and developed further in role so we are looking for people that can demonstrate the principles.
7. Significant experience In the development of analytical solutions
8. Deep knowledge of analytical techniques with hands-on experience of developing predictive models
9. Experience and proficiency in programming and data preparation
10. Degree or equivalent standard, with a high numeric content e.g. Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Econometrics, Operational Research from top universities. Degree in Data Science is a plus.
11. Ability to work on research and development projects and develop innovative analytical solutions and methodologies
12. Ability to identify business problems that can be solved using a combination of data and analytics and translate this into compelling propositions for our clients
13. A proven communicator, able to effectively communicate solutions and business benefits to stakeholders
14. Excellent interpersonal skills
15. Ability to build and maintain solid, long term relationships
16. Excellent planning, organising, time management & prioritisation skills
17. A creative problem solver
