As we continue to grow, the need has arisen to hire a skilled and driven finance Manager to support the CFO and develop the current Finance team as we embark on the next phase of our exciting growth journey.
Key Responsibilities
Reporting directly to, and supporting the CFO, this is the lead finance role with the responsibility of managing the Finance Team (currently 3 heads) and the candidate will have full P&L, balance sheet and cashflow responsibility for all aspects of reporting (management & statutory accounts).
* Management of the finance function, overseeing, coaching and developing the finance team to deliver a ‘right first time’ and ‘best in class’ mentality;
* Ensuring the integrity of the financial ledgers, accounting processes and that appropriate internal controls are implemented and maintained;
* Timely production of internal financial reporting together with supplementary analysis and comprehensive narrative to tell the story behind the numbers;
* Ownership of the monthly balance sheet reconciliation process;
* Review and sign off of Group VAT returns, including overseas VAT/Sales Tax returns where applicable;
* Key contact for external auditors and management of year end audit and tax processes;
* Supporting the budgeting and forecasting cycle;
* Treasury management, cashflow forecasting, and FX management;
* Principal accountant for holding company and ownership of group consolidation process.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
To be a success in this role, you will ideally have some, if not all of the following qualities:
* High caliber ACA / ACCA, Big 4 or top 10 firm background, with at least 4+ years PQE and strong management accounts experience;
* Significant experience of running a finance department in the e-commerce/retail sector would be advantageous;
* A high degree of knowledge in relation to stock accounting and the global import process;
* A team player with the ability to manage at all levels, with a strong emphasis on being approachable, and being able to identify and fulfil development and coaching needs of the Finance Team;
* A can-do attitude with an open approach to tasks across all levels;
* Excellent communication skills in order to liaise with stakeholders at all level;
* Commercial acumen with the ability to analyse, understand, narrate and influence the variable cost base of the business;
* Excellent IT skills, specifically advanced Excel & systems knowledge;
* Highly analytical, with the ability to manipulate and analyse high volumes of transactional data with ease;
* Exposure to ERP implementations or significant experience of using ERP.
