Blackfinch are embarking on a new strategic initiative to diversify the revenue streams and the assets under management for the company. We will do this by leveraging our core strengths of fund and investment management capabilities, coupled with our experience of investing into the tech enabled startup and Small Medium Enterprise business sector by launching a new workplace employee financial wellbeing platform. The platform will consist of a defined contribution pension, workplace benefits integration and access to financial advice. This B2B2C strategy will target early-stage start-up and scale up corporate clients and their employees, providing them with a highly engaging, personalised and holistic financial wellbeing experience to improve their pension savings and financial wellbeing situation.
Role Profile
The Sales Account Manager will operate as the principal lead generator for the Thrive sales team. This role will be responsible for generating Sales Qualified Leads (SQLs) for the Account Executive Managers and Senior BDM to follow up on. This role will oversee delivery of cold outreach phone calling and emailing to target SME clients who match our Ideal Client Profile (ICP). We are looking for individuals with strong experience of cold outreach activities backed up with a commercial outlook and internal drive.
The Sales Account Manager will be expected to support the development of strong client relationships and strategy to continually seek opportunities to grow the sales funnel and new business leads. As the Sales Account Manager, you will support the Senior Business Development Manager to manage and grow the pipeline and be an advocate for Thrive Pension internally and externally. This role is ideal for an ambitious Sales Account Manager who wants to be involved with the growth of a new financial services product from the ground up and is comfortable working in ambiguous, fast paced, start-up environments. A generous level of on target earnings are on offer for the right candidate who can quickly align with the Thrive’s ambitious growth plans.
Key Responsibilities
1. Creating an exceptional first impression with a nationwide bank of prospects in SME sector who match our ICP
2. Be brand ambassador by sharing the brand, values and ethos and propositions quickly and succinctly via introductory calls with new prospects
3. Understanding contacts business need and identify quickly those who may benefit from the solutions we offer
4. Following up all calls that do not result in a meeting booking with emails to maximise opportunities
5. Nurture contacts via continued engagement plans until a meeting is secured
6. Developing firms with multiple contacts via referrals and factfinding research
7. Building strong relationships with Business Development
8. Attending regular team meetings to understand weekly objectives and insights
9. Involvement in campaigns by following the company’s objectives and activity expectations
10. Maintaining accurate records of each contacts relationship lifecycle on the CRM updating key findings on areas of interest
11. Being a corporate thinker aware of business needs and demonstrating how these will be met
12. Understanding the importance of working in a highly regulated industry where accuracy and customer needs are key
13. Meeting and exceeding targets and KPI’s centred around activity measures, customer conversion/meeting generation targets and customer and business needs
14. Seek out ways to improve knowledge, skills and processes
Skills & Experience
1. Previous direct sales experience with evidence of working in a target driven environment
2. A team player willing to go the extra mile, both commercially and personally driven to succeed
3. A proven track record of providing great customer service and being customer centric
4. Proven experience of generating new leads from cold outreach activity including telephone, email and social media contact tools
5. Be an effective closer in the sales process, using all the techniques and skills you have built up throughout your sales career
6. A resilient, positive and competitive mindset willing to share ideas and take feedback on board
7. Evidence of using initiative, drive and determination to get results and enhance processes
8. Strong relationship building skills with both customers and colleagues
9. Clear and confident communications skills when on the phone
10. Excellent written skills when emailing customers with great attention to detail
11. Experience or working within a structured environment adhering to rules and regulations
12. Experience of Microsoft programs such as Excel, Office and Word
Qualifications
1. Good level of secondary education
2. Excellent communication, reading and writing skills
3. To either hold or be prepared to achieve during your first 6 months the CF1 or R01 qualification (on a sponsorship basis)
