Position Summary
The purpose of the OPG Operations Manager is to lead the Operations team to make the right decisions that will positively impact both the personnel and the business unit. It is vital that the Operations Manager builds a culture that promotes safety, growth, and development within their team, as well as progressing the systems and processes for operations in the region.
Duties & Responsibilities
Functions
SAFETY
1. Ensure that the safety policies and procedures are understood and adhered to as far as is reasonably practicable to ensure a safe working environment.
2. Promote and lead a strong HSE culture at all times.
3. Introduce initiatives that are safety driven with the hope of reducing incidents and hazards in all operations.
4. Participate in the company HSE Observation card, STOP and LSR Self Verification Programs.
5. Use their SWA (Stop Work Authority) to stop a job they may feel is unsafe, in order to prevent an accident/incident occurring.
6. Work and abide by our 6 life-saving rules: energy isolation, working at heights, suspended loads, radiation, confined space, and pressure testing, and practice the fatality prevention behaviors that are associated with each life-saving rule.
LEADERSHIP
1. Develop and mentor personnel.
2. Promote the highest standard of morals and ethics.
3. Create and implement development plans for direct reports.
4. Have open communications with other functions (Projects, Engineering, Bids and Proposals, SCM) in order to execute tasks flawlessly.
5. Track and drive the Technician Competencies and ensure their completion.
6. Participate in global and regional initiatives as a team leader or a participant.
7. Communicate and collaborate with regional and global peers to implement global and regional policies and best practices.
8. Maintain open and honest communication with direct reports.
TECHNICAL
1. Manage the operations teams in delegating work for their assigned scopes.
2. Oversee the usage of the asset and maintenance management systems to log equipment maintenance, current asset locations, and equipment certifications.
3. Participate in Project and Engineering meetings as required and delegate attendance when needed.
4. Understand technical work instructions and engineering drawings, including general assembly, P&ID, electrical and hydraulic schematics, and assembly procedures.
5. Lead the Continuous Improvement (CI) initiatives that are operated by Oceaneering.
6. Manage the reporting of Non-conformances and cost of poor quality (COPQ), and the Management of Change (MOC) process.
7. Assist with all technical data for jobs such as changes to drawings, schematics, OMMs, etc.
8. Interface with client representatives where necessary.
9. Work as a positive and collaborative team player in team environments.
10. Maintain credentials and complete required training on-line in Oceaneering's chosen Learning Management System (Sum Total).
ADDITIONAL
1. Run morning Operations toolbox talks.
2. Participate in the review and close out of action items/gaps found in the HSE programs.
3. Assist with any other duties as and when required.
4. Undertake specific projects as instructed by Supervisors/Management.
Supervisory Responsibilities
1. This position has supervisory responsibilities for all UK-based Subsea Technicians reporting through OPG, as well as UK-based OMW technicians reporting through OPG.
Key Accountabilities
1. Ensure readiness status of all equipment in location of responsibility.
2. Ensure the readiness and competency of all offshore and onshore technicians.
3. Repair and Maintenance cost of equipment.
4. All processes changes or implementation is completed and maintained across area of given responsibility.
Key Interactions
1. Discuss with Operations the readiness of equipment to support upcoming requirements and ongoing projects.
2. Discuss with Project Managers the crew selection, preparedness, and overall competency performance.
3. Discuss local technical and engineering support, any new or ongoing support requirements.
4. Daily interaction with Global Mobility.
Qualifications
REQUIRED
1. Bachelor's degree in Business, Operations, or Management preferred and/or.
2. Relevant Oilfield experience to include at least three (3) years of Administrative, Office or Operations Management experience; or any combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge, skills, and abilities have been achieved.

Working Conditions (Requires Regional Variance)
This position is considered OFFICE WORK characterized as follows:
1. Almost exclusively indoors during the day and occasionally at night.
2. Occasional exposure to airborne dust in the workplace.
3. Work surface is stable (flat).
