Our trusted partner, a highly reputable corporation that provides services to thousands of customers within the UK, is hiring a 3rd Line Infrastructure Engineer with strong capabilities in Linux (Debian, Ubuntu, SUSE), Microsoft desktop & server OS, and Networking Components (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLAN). This project-focused role is for an experienced professional who can resolve technical issues within a Linux-heavy environment. Our client is paying up to £55,000 + benefits with hybrid working situated in Kings Hill, Kent.
You will lead projects, acting as a final resolution to the service desk department, gaining exposure to desktop, server, cloud, and data center management of high availability and disaster recovery solutions.
Role Responsibilities & Requirements:
1. Infrastructure Management: Oversee the management of internal and hosted software platforms, Azure, 365, and Salesforce.
2. System Optimisation: Develop and implement system processes to enhance infrastructure performance.
3. Project Involvement: Lead and participate in software and hardware deployment projects.
4. Hardware Configuration and Installation: Configure, install, and maintain Dell/HP server hardware.
5. Network and Software Provisioning: Ensure seamless integration and performance of networking components.
Technical Capabilities:
1. Experience acting as a single point of contact for a broad range of technologies across infrastructure, networking, and cloud within an SME.
2. Strong and recent experience with Linux OS, including Debian, Ubuntu, and SUSE.
3. Experience with high availability and disaster recovery solutions.
4. A background in Microsoft desktop and server operating systems.
5. Exposure to Azure/Office 365, MDM solutions, and VMware ESXi/vSphere.
6. Certification in ITIL or VMware is welcome, but industry experience is preferred.
