We require enthusiastic, innovative Registered Nurses to work in our Oncology and Haematology ward (Somersham Ward) to cover secondment and maternity leave.
You will work within a close working team of nurses and the wider multidisciplinary team supporting a 25 bedded ward caring for patients undergoing chemotherapy, radioactive treatments, and peripheral stem cell transplants.
You will also support with palliative and supportive care.
Some Oncology or Haematology experience would be an advantage but is not essential as further training will be provided.
We have fixed term positions available until September/October 2025 at part-time, 30 hours per week or full-time, 37.5 hours per week.
Internal applicants currently employed by ESNEFT will be offered on a secondment basis only. This will need to be discussed with your line manager.
Main duties of the job
* Provide quality and individualised care to patients, relatives, and carers through working as an effective member of the multi-professional team.
* Be responsible for the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of programmes of care in the absence of direct supervision.
* Participate in the supervision and development of less experienced staff within the ward.

* NMC registration
* Evidence of continuing professional development
* Willing to undertake further education
* Coaching qualification
Knowledge
* Knowledge and understanding of evidence-based practice
* Understanding and ability to apply clinical governance principles to practice
* Knowledge of developments in speciality and current issues driving nursing in general
* Nursing Care of Acutely unwell patients
Experience
* Worked within the healthcare setting
* Experience in acute setting
* Participation in research/audit.
