The Opportunity Prime Workforce, on behalf of BEAR Scotland, is looking for an experienced and driven Highway Maintenance Supervisor to join their team. Based in either the North-East or South-East regions, this role offers the chance to oversee critical road maintenance activities, ensuring the safety and quality of Scotland's highways and infrastructure. Key Responsibilities As a Highway Maintenance Supervisor, you will be responsible for: Supervising Road Maintenance Activities: Overseeing daily road maintenance tasks, ensuring they are carried out safely, efficiently, and in line with technical specifications and regulatory standards. Managing a Team: Leading and motivating a team of maintenance technicians and operatives, ensuring they are trained, equipped, and perform to the highest standards. Ensuring Health and Safety Compliance: Promoting and ensuring that all activities adhere to relevant health and safety regulations and protocols. Inspecting and Assessing Road Conditions: Conducting regular inspections of roads, bridges, and other highway structures to identify areas that require maintenance, repair, or upgrading. Coordinating with Stakeholders: Collaborating with project managers, clients, and other internal and external teams to ensure smooth communication and coordination. Managing Resources: Ensuring that all necessary materials, tools, and equipment are available, maintained, and ready for use. Reporting on Performance: Documenting and reporting on maintenance activities and project progress, ensuring transparency and efficient project delivery. Promoting Best Practices: Contributing to continuous improvement efforts in road maintenance processes, ensuring that best practices in quality, safety, and efficiency are followed. Your Skills and Experience The ideal candidate for this role will possess: Qualifications: NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Road Maintenance or a similar qualification. Alternatively, relevant experience in road maintenance may be considered. Experience: A proven track record in road maintenance, including experience in supervising teams and overseeing the maintenance of highways, structures, and infrastructure. Technical Expertise: A strong understanding of road maintenance techniques, materials, and equipment used in highway works. Health and Safety Knowledge: Familiarity with health and safety regulations in the road maintenance sector. Leadership and Communication Skills: Proven leadership abilities, with experience in managing teams and effectively communicating with clients, contractors, and internal stakeholders.
