Senior Process / Project Engineer (Pre-Sales & Execution)

As a Senior Process/Project Engineer (Pre-Sales & Execution) with a leading engineering and equipment company, you will report to the Head of Process Engineering. Your primary responsibilities will include creating designs, preparing technical and commercial proposals, and overseeing project execution from detailed design to commissioning. In addition to managing smaller projects, you will also provide support and mentorship to junior engineers when needed.
Your responsibilities and tasks:
1. Support sales team with client visits and presentations.
2. Translate the client requirements into technical solutions.
3. Process, equipment and piping sizing.
4. Development of enquiry stage P&IDs.
5. Development of key assumptions, execution plan and scope boundaries.
6. Costing of equipment/components supply.
7. Review, with multiple functions, enquiry documents and obtain clarifications where required.
8. Support multiple functions to prepare their respective scope and costings.
9. Consolidate costs and prepare an overall cost calculation.
10. Consolidate plans and develop an overall execution plan and timeline.
11. Prepare Technical and Commercial Proposals in accordance with defined scopes of supply.
12. Maintain Proposal documentation in line with company procedures and policies to ensure compliance with set requirements & standards.

1. Accuracy of designs / costings

5. Dealing with multiple proposals
6. Design Recycle / Fast turn around
7. Support project manager with client visits and presentations.
8. Support the project manager with change control and scope variations.
9. Produce designs for P&IDs, Equipment Lists, Datasheets, Process and Functional Descriptions.
10. Produce requests for quotations for our sub-suppliers, review and obtain clarifications where required.
11. Perform supplier’s bid analysis and recommend vendors to the project manager/supply chain manager.
12. Review, with multiple functions, design documents and obtain clarifications where required.
13. Review, with sub-suppliers, design documents and obtain clarifications where required.
14. Take part in commissioning, product and cleaning tests and initial production support.
15. Maintain Project documentation in line with company procedures and policies to ensure compliance with design and QHSE standards.

Your profile and qualifications:
1. Food/Dairy, Chemical or Mechanical Engineering qualifications
2. Minimum 5 years’ experience in:
* Leading/Managing Process/Equipment Bids & Proposals
* Engineering and equipment supply for hygienic processes – food, dairy, beverage, pharma or home and personal care
1. Capable of:
* Independently produce designs (P&IDs, mass/energy balances) from ‘blank canvas’
* Independently and accurately calculate process capacities, equipment and piping sizes
* Independently assess risks and assure compliance to QSHE rules
* Manage small projects (scope, changes, cost, time & quality)
* Manage small number of engineers and contractors
* Support and mentor less experienced engineers
* Have in depth knowledge of manufacturing processes, formulations ingredients (liquids & solids), technology and equipment suppliers for food/dairy/beverage or home and personal care
2. Excellent communication, presentation and negotiating skills
3. This position will require worldwide travelling (2-3 times per year)
