Holywell Children's Services is recruiting staff for a new exciting Children's Service in Lancashire. Holywell Care Group is an established care provider with an outstanding reputation. We are recruiting for passionate and conscientious qualified and unqualified people to join our Children's Residential Service.
Duties and responsibilities
You will assist in assessing need, planning, implementing and reviewing care and or pathway plans of the individual Young People we support, who are leaving care and living in the community. Such support is governed by legislation and guided by the principles and policies of Holywell Children’s Services.
Variable staff Rota which includes weekends, overnights wake-and-watch/supervision.
In this post, you are responsible for fulfilling your duties and responsibilities in accordance with legislation and Holywell Children’s Services Policies and Procedures.
Core duties
Your duties will be to:
• Promote the principles and values of Holywell Children’s Services.
• To assist in the daily care of the Children/Young People, helping them with their personal care, health, care, education and recreational activities where required.
• To help Children/Young Persons with limited or reduced mobility and other physical disabilities, helping with the use of disability aids and caring for the same, where appropriate.
• To help with the Young Persons social activities and to participate in them to further the child’s learning and education and maintain a healthy life choices.
• Ensure you accommodate the Young Person’s dietary requirements in accordance with their Care Plan.
• To help maintain a clean and tidy Home and encourage the Young Person to complete daily tasks throughout the Home such as changing their bedding and cleaning where possible.
• Encouraging the Young People to be as independent as possible.
• To monitor their physical and mental health and well-being conditions, as well as report any change to the Manager.
• To help maintain a safe and healthy environment in the Home with due regard to appropriate Food Hygiene and Health and Safety Regulations.
• To report all accidents to the Team Leader and Line Manager or Home Manager
• To read and write reports, risk assessments and Care Plans, and to participate in staff and children/family meetings as appropriate
• To participate in training activities/courses, as directed by senior staff.
• To be a good role model for our Young People and lead by example.
• To undertake other duties, as necessary.
• Participate with the production of and implementation of Children and Young People’s plans as required by the Children (Leaving Care) Act 2000 and Guidance.
• Recognise and respond to the needs of Children and Young People with emotional behavioral difficulties (EBD) & special educational needs (SEN).
• Support Children and Young People to find ways to deal with difficulties or particular vulnerabilities.
• Support Children and Young People to express their views, involve Young People in planning for their own future.
• Support with delivery of one to one and small group work around issues relevant to young people’s needs, including identity, faith and community.
• Promote the educational employment and training (EET) needs of children and young people
• Maintain appropriate records, write reports and attend and participate in meetings as required.
• Carry out clerical and/or administrative tasks associated with care pathway plans.
• Undertake relevant training and commitment to own personal development.
• Maintain confidentiality in accordance with data protection legislation, policies and procedures.
• Be available for supervision.
• Be flexible to work unsociable hours in the event of emergencies.

Driving License - A full and clean license is a desirable requirement
