Job Title: Site Supervisor (SSSTS) – Prison Project (6-Month Contract) Location: London, UK Duration: 6 Months Job Type: Full-Time, Contract About the Role: We are seeking a qualified and reliable Site Supervisor (SSSTS) to oversee operations at a prison construction project in London. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring site safety, coordinating site activities, and assisting the project manager with site operations. This is a 6-month contract position, ideal for a candidate with the necessary certifications and the ability to work effectively in a high-security environment. EL1 Clearance is a mandatory requirement for this role due to the nature of the project. Key Responsibilities: Supervise and manage day-to-day site operations to ensure compliance with health and safety standards. Ensure all site activities are conducted in accordance with SSSTS regulations and procedures. Monitor site access, security protocols, and control site risks, particularly in a prison environment. Conduct regular site inspections and safety audits to maintain a safe working environment for all personnel. Implement safe working practices and promote a strong safety culture on site. Coordinate and support subcontractors and workers on-site, ensuring all tasks are performed according to schedule. Liaise with the project manager to report on site progress, health and safety compliance, and any issues that arise. Ensure all personnel on site hold the correct certifications and follow site protocols. Requirements: SSSTS (Site Supervisor Safety Training Scheme) certification is essential. Valid ECS (Electrotechnical Certification Scheme) or CSCS (Construction Skills Certification Scheme) card. Current First Aid certification. EL1 Clearance (Essential for working in secure environments such as prisons). Previous experience in a supervisory role on construction sites (preferably in a high-security environment) is advantageous but not required. Strong understanding of site safety regulations and the ability to enforce them. Ability to work under pressure and handle potentially challenging situations. Excellent communication and leadership skills. Desirable: Previous experience working within a prison environment or secure facility.
