Job summary Senior Phlebotomist - Job Share Considered The phlebotomy Department is part of the Cancer and Clinical Services Division, supported by a clinical lead with the reporting line that goes through a Service Manager, General Manager. The overall performance and governance oversight is provided by a triumvirate comprising a Divisional Medical Director, Director of Operations and a Director of Nursing. The job involves taking blood from patients on the wards, in outpatient clinics and in patient homes. The department is currently open from 7.30 am to 5.00 pm, with staff working various shift patterns Main duties of the job We are looking for a full-time senior phlebotomist for 37.5 hours per week contract. This is an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic and motivated person with good communication skills to work in a stimulating and challenging environment and to contribute to health care.We are a busy patient-focused department staffed by a friendly and helpful team working at both Epsom and St Helier Hospitals and attending clinic sessions in the community and GP surgeries as well as visiting patients' homes.We are looking for a responsible, adaptable person to join us in taking blood samples from patients requiring laboratory blood tests. Experience in adult, paediatric phlebotomy, and domiciliary phlebotomy are essential.You will be required to take part in the present Saturday and Bank Holiday rota. However extended days or differing shifts may be required depending on the future needs of the service, and flexibility with regard to hours and place of work is essential. This is a cross-site role and the post holder will be required to work at any of the Trust sites however, the post-holder will be mainly based at Epsom.
