They are now seeking a Mechanical Design/Project Engineer to join their dynamic team and lead exciting engineering initiatives. Working Hours: Monday to Thursday: 07:30/08:00 – 16:30/17:00 Friday: 08:00 – 12:45 (Full-time, 38.5 hours per week) Job Description: As a Mechanical Design/Project Engineer, you will report to the Engineering Manager and play a key role in designing and implementing automation solutions. You will work on a variety of engineering projects, from concept to completion, ensuring high standards of efficiency, productivity, and safety. Key responsibilities include: Mechanical Design: Creating 2D & 3D CAD drawings, performing design calculations, and developing automation solutions such as robotic handling cells, conveyor systems, and lifting tables. Automation & Standardisation: Driving automation projects across production lines and drilling machines to improve efficiency and safety. Project Management: Managing projects from initial design through to implementation, ensuring timely and budget-conscious delivery. Technical Documentation: Maintaining detailed technical folders for all engineering projects. Process Improvement: Identifying and implementing ways to enhance productivity, efficiency, and throughput through automation and waste reduction. Cost & Lifecycle Analysis: Evaluating costs and lifecycles to maximise return on investment. Team Collaboration: Working cross-functionally with various teams to enhance project design and installations. Skills & Experience: The ideal Mechanical Design/Project Engineer will have: A strong background in mechanical design and automation. Experience with CAD software (2D & 3D). Project management skills, with the ability to oversee engineering projects from start to finish. A proactive, problem-solving mindset with attention to detail.
