Lincolnshire Partnership NHS Foundation Trust is recruiting for Housekeepers to join our female acute treatment ward at Ash Villa, in Sleaford.
About the Role and You:
We are looking for friendly, reliable and hard-working candidates who will be flexible and organized with good interpersonal and communication skills.
All general housekeeping duties will be required within a mental health inpatient environment to set procedures and to ensure the cleanliness of a hospital environment is maintained to a high standard in accordance with CoSHH, Health and Safety and Infection Control measures in place. This will additionally include the support and serving of patient mealtimes, therefore direct patient contact will be required.
You will be a team player and have the ability to use your initiative to prioritise and organise daily duties, whilst maintaining the Trust Values (Compassion, Pride, Integrity, Valuing Everybody, Innovation and Collaboration).
The unit is operational 7 days a week therefore weekend and bank holiday cover will be required to ensure that we have sufficient housekeeping services at all times. There is a mixture of shifts between 7 am and 6 pm, with early shifts from 7-3 and late shifts from 10-6 pm.
Main Duties of the Job
The post holder is part of a team of housekeepers who are responsible to the Housekeeping Supervisor.
Job Responsibilities
1. Achieve and maintain high standards of cleanliness at all times, in line with NHS National Standards of Cleanliness and Infection Control policy.
2. Use all cleaning equipment and materials appropriately and effectively to provide a clean and safe environment.
3. Cleaning of all areas within the unit both on the wards and the off ward areas as defined in the cleaning schedules.
4. Daily inspection of electrical cleaning equipment prior to use and the reporting of any faults as appropriate.
5. Disposal of all waste in accordance with trust policies.
6. Damp dusting of all fixtures and fittings/internal glass.
7. Ensure all soft furnishings, curtains and soft flooring are cleaned and maintained as required.
8. Changing curtains when required and re-hanging as necessary.
9. Prepare and regenerate meals for patients.
10. Maintain all food safety records in line with Food Safety Manual, Catering Policy, and all food safety legislation.
11. Ensure patient area is readied for meal service, and clear related crockery/cutlery after meal service, ensuring these are washed appropriately.
12. Maintain stocks of cleaning materials on wards and admin areas.
13. Report any issues/damage to the environment/furniture to the Housekeeping Supervisor/Ward Manager.
14. Ensure all stocks of linen are maintained and laundered in line with appropriate policies.
15. Comply with and carry out safe practice in accordance with Trust policies and procedures, appropriate Codes of Conduct, the Mental Health Act (1983).
Qualifications
* Level 2 Food Safety qualification, or willingness to undertake.
* Basic Health & Safety Awareness.
* Moving & Handling Training.
Experience
* Previous experience within a cleaning/housekeeping role.
* Previous experience within an NHS/care environment.
