We are advertising this Refrigeration Engineer role on behalf of our client ‘City Facilities Management’. City was established in 1985 and has grown to become one of the world’s largest privately held, integrated FM companies.
Job Purpose:
This is a key position, carrying out planned and reactive maintenance across several site locations. You will be the first line in all maintenance throughout your allocated sites. The purpose of this role is to carry out technical repairs and PPM’s, ensuring that all technical and compliance paperwork is always completed and up to date. All work will be completed to the highest standards in an efficient and cost-effective manner, whilst complying with the laid-down Company Health and Safety policy.
Key Accountabilities:
1. Complete the Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) schedule within agreed timescales and ensure all necessary paperwork is completed accurately and to the laid-down procedures.
2. Respond promptly and positively to service call requests from the Helpdesk, assess the requirements of the job, and carry out repairs as necessary.
3. Prioritise maintenance and repair work to achieve agreed timescales and response times.
4. Order spares according to laid-down procedures.
5. Identify non-repairable faults in plant and machinery and promptly advise the Line Manager of findings, with recommendations regarding suitable replacements.
6. Ensure compliance documentation is always completed and up to date.
7. Carry out surveys and complete reports as required by City management.
8. Carry out minor alterations and installations within the individual’s technical competence in accordance with current specifications.
9. Attend training courses as necessary to ensure personal job skills keep pace with technical developments.
Knowledge/ Skills/ Abilities:
1. Multiple years’ experience in refrigeration and supermarket experience.
2. Flexibility in working hours is essential for this role, as well as the ability to be on call 13 weeks per year.
3. You must be a fully qualified Refrigeration Engineer with Refrigeration Handling C&G 2079 qualification (Fgas Qualification).
4. You should hold an NVQ / C&G Level 2 in Refrigeration or equivalent.
5. You must have a full, valid UK driving licence.
6. Ability to read drawings.
7. Equipment diagnostic and repair skills.
8. Ability to work at heights and be competent in the use of access equipment.
