Utopian Professional Recruitment are delighted to be recently appointed to work in partnership with an incredible client who is looking to recruit an ambitious Accounts Assistant to join their team on a full time, permanent basis.
To be considered for this opportunity, our client does require experience of accounts preparation and ideally from a healthcare background (this isn’t essential), however an focused individual looking to expand their knowledge and develop further.
As an Accounts Assistant, you will be involved in preparing accounts, supporting bookkeeping tasks, reconciling financial data, and assisting with VAT returns. This role is integral to ensuring our clients receive exceptional service and accurate financial reporting.
Your main responsibilities will include:
* Preparation of accounts for a range of limited, partnership and sole trader businesses
* Ensuring accuracy is provided for all clients including tax computations
* Plan and schedule work to ensure it is completed on time and within dedicated timescales and budget
* Ensure all Companies House filling deadlines are met
* Present managers with complete sets of accounts
* Clearing review points and making adjustments to accounts
* Build and maintain strong client relationships
* Provide demonstrations, set ups and training for clients using Xero (once knowledge is gained)
* Keep up to date with any changes across the business, legislations and technical knowledge
To be considered for this opportunity we are looking for the following background / experience:
* Background working within an accountancy practice
* Experience of accounts preparation
* Strong time management skills and ability to work to deadlines
* Excellent organisational capability
* Great attention to detail and analytical skills
* First class IT knowledge including MS Office, Xero and QuickBooks
* Strong team player with a positive attitude and willingness to learn
* Genuine passion to support clients and business growth
Reward:
* This role can be based in Kilmarnock or Ayr
* Hours of Work – Monday to Friday 9-5.15pm
