Job Description:
We’re recruiting for a Technical & Governance Claims Consultant to join us on a hybrid basis in our Hove office, working Monday - Friday. You will provide a pro-active and comprehensive claims administration across our account portfolio within a Technical Claims team, acknowledging complaints, appeals, providing servicing updates and management of other technical tasks, whilst ensuring accurate records are maintained on our systems.
What you'll be doing:
1. Triaging new queries coming into the Technical & Governance (T&G) team mailbox and ensuring they are actioned to support the service delivery of the Technical & Governance Team.
2. Undertaking technical team reviews, including requesting or following up on medical evidence or outstanding requests to ensure regular updates and good customer service levels.
3. Working with the Technical & Governance Manager, in the prioritisation of complex case roundtables to help progress complex cases within our claims area.
4. Support in the provision of data or updates to help build effective relationships both internally and with external IFA’s and Policyholders (employers), in order to maximise the effectiveness of our claims management processes including the provision of support for the portfolio management of defined schemes.
5. Assist in the provision of Management Information for the Technical & Governance team and the analyses of data for key trends.
6. Assist the Technical & Governance manager in the delivery of the T&G training plan.
7. Ensure a consistent, timely and accurate level of service is maintained in line with service level agreements and promises made to meet customers’ expectations, and that are within scope of Legal & General’s Customer Experience, Consumer Duty and Treating Customers Fairly policies. Where failures are identified, provide information and feedback to the relevant areas to enable changes and improvements to be made.

2. Excellent IT skills in Word, Excel and other Microsoft products.
3. An ability to work to deadlines and targets.
4. The jobholder has authorised approval limits as agreed by the Head of Claims.
5. Ability to carry out thorough and comprehensive investigations to determine eligibility of a Group Protection Claim.
6. Responsible for managing own workload and prioritising appropriately.
