Job summary An exciting opportunity has arisen for Band 5 nurses to join our Neonatal teams at Leicester General Hospital & Leicester Royal Infirmary.We are seeking enthusiastic and motivated nurses to join our friendly and supportive team. Here at University Hospitals Leicester, where we provide 42 cots for sick premature (22 weeks gestation plus) and term new-born infants who require both surgical and medical intervention. The ultimate plan will see a flagship maternity and neonatal hospital built within our current grounds at the Leicester Royal Infirmary providing care to 70 neonatal infants, including 2 unit-based neonatal ECMO cots. As a Neonatal Nurse at UHL you will work alongside our friendly, dynamic, talented team of professionals to deliver high quality, compassionate care to our local community and beyond. You will provide care for preterm and term infants who need medical or surgical care after birth. On appointment you will have the opportunity to undertake Neonatal Foundations, HDU and ITU courses to gain knowledge, skills and confidence, supported by our designated education team. Main duties of the job We also care for infants requiring cardiac intervention pre and post-surgery. We are proud to host and run the neonatal homecare community service for the South Hub of East Midlands Neonatal Operational Delivery Network covering Leicester, Northampton and Kettering and we are privileged to host CenTre Neonatal Transport service. The Leicester Neonatal service, with a bespoke research team, is at the forefront of Neonatal care.
